功能与背景

The epsilon globin gene (HBE) is normally expressed in the embryonic yolk sac: two epsilon chains together with two zeta chains (an alpha-like globin) constitute the embryonic hemoglobin Hb Gower I; two epsilon chains together with two alpha chains form the embryonic Hb Gower II. Both of these embryonic hemoglobins are normally supplanted by fetal, and later, adult hemoglobin. The five beta-like globin genes are found within a 45 kb cluster on chromosome 11 in the following order: 5'-epsilon - G-gamma - A-gamma - delta - beta-3' [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

Hemoglobin epsilon antibody [HL2457] detects Hemoglobin epsilon protein at cell membrane and cytoplasm by immunofluorescent analysis.
Sample: K562 cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at RT for 15 min.

Various whole cell extracts (30 μg) were separated by 15% SDS-PAGE, and the membrane was blotted with Hemoglobin epsilon antibody [HL2457] (GTX638775) diluted at 1:1000. The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody. Corresponding RNA expression data for the same cell lines are based on Human Protein Atlas program.
