Enables cytokine activity. Involved in lipid homeostasis; positive regulation of cell differentiation; and positive regulation of cold-induced thermogenesis. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including interleukin-18-mediated signaling pathway; positive regulation of NIK/NF-kappaB signaling; and positive regulation of interferon-gamma production. Located in extracellular space. Is expressed in several structures, including back skin; dorsal aorta; gut; lymphatic system; and reproductive system. Used to study atopic dermatitis. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including Kawasaki disease; allergic rhinitis; autoimmune disease (multiple); biliary atresia; and hepatitis B. Indirect ELISA analysis was performed by coating the plate with recombinant E.coli expressed, full-length human IL18 protein, His tag (GTX00227-pro) (3.47-0.05 nM). Coated protein was probed with IL18 antibody [HL1859] (GTX637584) (1 μg/mL). Goat anti-rabbit IgG antibody (HRP) (GTX213110-01) (1:10000) was used to detect the bound primary antibody.

The HRP-conjugated anti-rabbit IgG antibody (GTX213110-01) was used to detect the primary antibody, and the signal was developed with Trident ECL plus-Enhanced.

Sample: A431 cells were fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at RT for 15 min.

Red: alpha Tubulin, a cytoskeleton marker, stained by alpha Tubulin antibody [GT114] (GTX628802) diluted at 1:1000.
